The Training Day Policy and the Training Grounds Policy should be reviewed prior to each event.
SPRING RESTRICTIONS
Under our agreement with the landowners, the training grounds are RESTRICTED during legal spring turkey hunting hours. Please review the Hunting & Trapping Digest for full date & time details.
- April 27, 2024: Junior / Mentored hunt. Please do not enter the training grounds before 1:00pm.
- May 4-18, 2024: May be hunted 1/2 hour before sunrise until 12:00 noon.
- Please do not enter the training grounds before 1:00pm, except for Sundays.
- May 20-31, 2024: May be hunted 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset.
- Training grounds are closed, except for Sundays.
BIRD SALES
The chapter usually provides the opportunity to purchase upland birds (chukars) for scheduled training days. Bird availability depends on the cooperation of chapter members and our suppliers, and is not guaranteed.
There will be a cap of two (2) birds per member for the training days. Anyone wishing to have ducks or pheasants available for training days is responsible for the purchase and pick-up of their own birds.

Orders are due by 9:00 on Wednesday to the designated Bird Contact on the schedule below.
There are only two options for payment.
- Cash or check upon arrival at the training day
- Prepayment with your order via the chapter PayPal account:

BIRD CONTACT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Track the members requesting birds, along with the number of birds requested.
- Retrieve the Chapter’s crates for transporting the birds.
- Contact the Bird Seller on Thursday with the number of birds required for pick up.
- Pick up the birds from the Bird Seller the Friday before the Training Day.
- On the Training Day, collect the money from the members that requested birds.
- Give the money to the Treasurer or the Designated Chapter Member if the Treasurer is not available.
