The Training Day Policy and the Training Grounds Policy should be reviewed prior to each event.
SPRING RESTRICTIONS
Under our agreement with the landowners, the training grounds are RESTRICTED during legal spring turkey hunting hours. Please review the PA Game Commission Website for full details.
- Junior/Mentored Hunt Dates: Please do not enter the training grounds before 1:00pm
- 1st Two Weeks of Adult Spring Turkey: May be hunted 1/2 hr before sunrise until 12:00noon. Please do no enter the training grounds before 1:00pm; except for Sundays
- 2nd Two Weeks of Adult Spring Turkey: May be hunted 1/2 hr before sunrise until 1/2 hr after sunset. Training grounds are closed, except for Sundays.

- Training Day Sunday, May 18 – 7:00 AM
- Spring Test Saturday–Sunday, June 7–8 6:30 AM
- Training Day Saturday, June 21 – 7:00 AM
- Training Day Saturday, July 19 – 7:00 AM
- Membership Family Picnic Saturday, July 27 – Settlers Cabin Park – 10:00 AM
- Mock Test Saturday/Sunday, August 16 or 17 (Date to be finalized) – 7:00 AM
- Training Day Saturday, September 6 – 7:00 AM
- Fall Test Saturday–Sunday, September 27–28 – 6:30 AM
BIRD SALES
The chapter usually provides the opportunity to purchase upland birds (chukars) for scheduled training days. Bird availability depends on the cooperation of chapter members and our suppliers, and is not guaranteed.
There will be a cap of five (5) birds per member for the training days. Anyone wishing to have ducks or pheasants available for training days is responsible for the purchase and pick-up of their own birds.
An email will be sent to the chapter membership on the 7-10 days before each scheduled training day with details regarding bird orders.
Payment for bird sales:
- Cash or check upon arrival at the training day
